The Midday Flip — 2026-07-19, Germany–Luxembourg
DE-LU cleared near €120/MWh overnight, then solar drove 27 consecutive quarter-hours below zero (floor €−5.69) between 09:00 and 15:45 UTC before the evening ramp took the curve back to a €167 quarter-hour peak.
The flip ran through the wires too: hourly net flows on Germany’s eleven measured borders changed direction 28 times as the midday solar surge turned neighbours from sinks into sources and back.
